USITO Call for Comments: SAMR Releases Draft National Standard on the International System of Units (SI) and Rules for Its Use
Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) released for public comment the draft mandatory national standard, The International System of Units (SI) and Rules for Its Use. The draft was proposed by SAMR, is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee 16 on Quantities and Units (SAC/TC 16), and was primarily drafted by the National Institute of Metrology, China. Once finalized, it will replace GB 3100—1993, The International System of Units and Its Application. The draft covers the composition of the SI; SI units and their multiples; rules for the use, names, and symbols of units; China’s legal units of measurement that may be used alongside SI units; and implementation provisions.
