MOFCOM and Seven Other Ministries Release Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of “AI + Consumption”

On Jun 18, MOFCOM, CAC, NDRC, MOE, MIIT, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism jointly released the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of “AI + Consumption”. The Opinions serve as an action-oriented guideline under the State Council’s “AI+” initiative, aiming to use AI to cultivate new consumption growth drivers and support upgrades in both goods and services. The document highlights policy priorities relevant to ICT and standards stakeholders, including AI-enabled smart terminals, intelligent agents, smart home and smart living solutions, AI-driven e-commerce and logistics, consumer-facing digital services, cybersecurity and data security, and standards work for AI terminals, interoperability, security, trustworthiness, and cross-brand ecosystem development.
