Ten Administrations Jointly Released Guiding Opinions on Industrial Internet Security

To further implement the Industrial Internet Strategy initiated by the State Council in 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently jointly released the Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Work on Industrial Internet Security (Guiding Opinions) with other nine government bodies including the National Health Commission (NHC), the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).
 
Unlike the State Council Guideline which outlines goals for long-term development, the aforementioned Guiding Opinions set short-term goals for 2025. MIIT and the other nine bodies aim to establish an Industrial Internet security system by the end of 2020, establish an administrative mechanism of supervision, emergency management, etc. The Guiding Opinions aim to promote internet security specifically targeting in the following sectors and industries by 2025: automotive, digital information, aerospace, energy
