SAIC Issues Regulatory Measures for Internet Advertising

 

On July 1, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC) issued the "Interim Measures for Internet Advertising Supervision and Management (Draft for Comment)", with a deadline of July 31. 

 

The measures, based on the PRC Advertisement Law, the PRC Consumers Right Protection Law, the PRC Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the Internet Information Service Management Measures, aim to regulate the Internet advertising behaviors of:

  • Advertisers
  • Advertisement operators
  • Advertising spokespeople
  • Website operators who publish advertising information that is saved on the website
  • Internet information service providers
