SAC Expedites Enterprise Standards Reform

 

On August 3, the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) Local Standardization Department (i.e. SAC Department of Service Industry Standards) hosted the third meeting reviewing the pilot work of the enterprise product standard self-disclosure system. SAC Deputy Director Cui Gang attended the meeting and outlined four SAC key tasks for further reform work:

  • Complete soon the Guiding Opinions of Establishing Enterprise Product and Service Standards Self-disclosure and Supervision System
  • Strengthen the pilot areas in those products that are of most interest to consumers
  • Expedite the revision work of the Enterprise Standardization Management Measures, setting rules on third-party evaluation and post supervision and spot-check mechanisms
  • Start the Phase II construction of information disclosure platform, and publish soon the Enterprise Product Standards Information Public Service Platform Technical Proposal
  • Conduct credit management, using the evaluation by third-party organizations of enterprise standards and their disclosure as references for regulation
  • Strengthen incentive system and education programs

Government officials from the pilot areas, including Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Jiangsu, Anhui, Guizhou, Tibet, and Xi'an joined the meeting.
