National Five-Year Plan For Standardization System Released

On December 30, 2015, the State Council published the National Plan for Standardization System Establishment (2016-2020), the first national-level plan focused exclusively on standardization. The five-year plan aims to establish an effective, advanced, practical and internationally influential standardization system by 2020.

The plan includes six main tasks that had been outlined in the Reform Plan for Further Improving Standardization Work, released in March 2015, as well as ten key projects for standardization work, particularly including:
  • consumer product safety
  • energy saving and emissions reduction
  • new-generation information technology
  • smart manufacturing and equipment upgrade
