MOFCOM released the revised drafts of the Catalogues of Technologies Prohibited and Restricted from Import and Export for public comments

On July 23, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) released newly revised drafts of both the Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited and Restricted from Import and the Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited and Restricted from Export (the Catalogues) for public comments, with a deadline for commentary of August 22.

MOFCOM has issued the Catalogues in accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Technology Import and Export Administration (as released in State Council Order No.331). The revised Catalogues aim to adapt China’s import and export restrictions to new technological and developmental needs, as well as to accelerate China’s innovation-driven development strategy. They also seek to help China better manage and promote technology import/export operations.
