MOF Publishes 2016 Government Procurement Work Priorities

On February 19, The Ministry of Finance (MOF) published on its website a Notice of 2016 Government Procurement Work Priorities. The notice outlined eight priorities for 2016: 

  • Strengthen the construction of government procurement system 
  • Improve and implement government procurement policy 
  • Accelerate the information construction of government procurement 
  • Promote the reform of government procurement 
  • Strengthen government procurement management 
  • Strengthen the supervision and management of government procurement 
  • Do government procurement publicity and research work 
  • Develop foreign negotiation 

Within the eight priorities, the notice included: 

  • Establish and release the standard text of bidding documents for desktop computers, portable computer and printer etc. 
  • Strengthen and perfect green procurement policy, continue to expand the scope of government procurement of energy-saving and environment protection products 
  • Research and implement the relevant policies and measures of government procurement to support cloud computing, big data, "Internet plus", information security etc.
