LED Energy Efficiency Plans Released

On February 17, central government ministries jointly released industrial development plans for LED technology to achieve energy conservation aims.
 
The measures, released jointly by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Ministry of Finance (MOF), General Administration of Quality, Supervision, Inspection & Quarantine (AQSIQ) and Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD), aim to facilitate the healthy development of the LED lighting industry, with the goal of promoting green lighting and achieving energy-savings and emission reductions.
 
The plans set goals, identify key projects and provide incentives for the development of China's LED industry during the current 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015).  Details include technical standards and subsidies for energy-efficient products.  More details are available on this website here.
