Cybersecurity Week Held in Shanghai

This week, Shanghai hosted the 2017 China Cybersecurity Week from September 16-24. The annual conference and expo is hosted by the Department of Publicity under the CPC Central Committee and the Office of the Central Leading Group for Cyberspace Affairs, as well as other key government agencies such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

The summit demonstrates that cybersecurity is a top priority for the Party and the government, and aims to promote rules and regulations in cyberspace and to raise public awareness of cybersecurity. The theme this year was “Cybersecurity for People and by People”. Provincial governments across China also launched their own cybersecurity week activities following the lead of the annual conference.
