USITO acts as a catalyst, sparking new insights and approaches to address the many complex challenges and opportunities facing our industry and the U.S.-China economic relationship as a whole.
USITO achieves its goal by providing effective channels for engagement among our members and the Chinese & U.S. government, academia and other industry groups on policy and regulation, as well as forward looking developmental modeling for the ICT industry.
USITO provides regular events and programs on key Chinese ICT industrial development issues. We work closely with leading Chinese think tanks and partner trade associations on joint projects, submissions, and advocacy initiatives. We provide specialized research products, regular publications, and tailored advisory services.
USITO also has three member-driven work groups that focus on issues key to the industry, namely the Trade and Investment Work Group, the Environment and Energy Efficiency Work Group, and the Standards and Conformity Work Group.
USITO has grown to become the leading policy-centered independent NGO focused on the ICT industry in China since its founding in 1994. Today, USITO represents five major U.S. IT industry associations: TechAmerica (merged from AeA, ITAA, GEIA and CSIA); the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI); the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA); the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and the Telecom Industry Association (TIA).
USITO also represents close to 50 individual U.S.-based companies actively engaged in China, drawn from across the spectrum from semiconductors, computing, networking and software to telecoms, broadcasting and digital content - in a word, anything related to the creation, distribution and consumption of things digital.
