The Conference Board - 2009 China Sustainability Survey
2009-10-22

Sustainability Practices of Multinational Corporations in China — What is the Status Quo and Where are We Heading?

With the Chinese government continuing to strengthen its commitment to environmental regulation and sustainable development – and the global warming imperative - it has become increasingly important for businesses in China to incorporate not only economic, but also environmental and societal performance metrics into their long-term business strategies.
In light of this -—
What are current priorities and focus areas of sustainability initiatives and practices for MNCs in China?
— What business rationales, frameworks and performance measures are being used and how are they working?
— What internal and external factors drive the sustainability agenda and who are the key stakeholders?
— What do senior executives perceive to be the biggest challenges and opportunities for implementing a long-term strategic sustainability agenda in China?
To gain a clearer picture of the current situation, The Conference Board China Center for Economics and Business is conducting a pioneer research project which includes a survey amongst global corporations with business operations in China. This survey is by invitation-only and your participation is greatly valued. Please forward this invitation to an appropriate colleague who works most closely with sustainability issues in China and request them to participate.
To start the survey click here
All participating companies will receive an in-depth analysis of the survey results including an exclusive customized report benchmarking your company’s views and business practices against those of other MNCs in China. In addition, we invite your company to serve as one of our in-depth case studies which we will feature in our research publication (more information on how to participate in the case studies is included at the end of the survey).
Your answers and company information will be kept entirely confidential. No information that you submit will be identified with you or your company without your explicit permission.
Our membership includes over 1,600 companies representing nearly 50 percent of the Fortune 500. As part of this membership, other senior executives are already profiting from The Conference Board’s unique research and business insights. Participating in this survey will give your company access to the same world-class, authoritative insights that make The Conference Board a trusted advisor to businesses worldwide.
This survey will close on November 20. To take part please click here. Alternatively, please forward this invitation to an appropriate colleague who works most closely with sustainability issues in China and request them to participate.
On behalf of The Conference Board, thank you.
