USITO Looks For Policy Coordination Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
Manager, Public Policy Coordination of USITO

USITO is seeking an energetic individual with a willingness to learn to serve as the Manger of Public Policy Coordination.  This individual’s primary role will be act as an interface between U.S Multinational technology companies, international trade associations, global governments, and other external stakeholders.  Additionally, this individual must be able to work independently across multiple time zones, often times in virtual environments. 

Requirements: 

- Work with USITO member companies and parent associations to coordinate industry positioning regarding a diverse range of public policy issues.
- Coordinate, plan, and implement several of USITO’s internal public policy workgroups strategic objectives.
- Understand and communicate complex technical policy and government regulations to wide audience of individuals.  Excellent communicator who can work at ease in diplomatic and corporate environments. 
- Act as USITO external liaison to a number of trade and technology related organizations from the E.U., Japan, Korea, and the United States. 
- On a frequent basis, research, analyze and report on various technology policy developments in China. 
- Participate in internal planning meetings regarding government policy advocacy and outreach and able to provide expert views and opinions. 
- Coordinate visits of high-level trade association leadership to China, including setting up and facilitating visits to Chinese government agencies. 

Qualifications:

- Must be current holder of a U.S. passport and possess native English.  
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public affairs, international relations, or international trade/business. 
- Minimum one (1) year’s of formal work experience, preferably in China in the field of technology or public policy.  Experience working on international trade issues with a variety of stakeholders is a plus. 
- MUST have professional level spoken Chinese, along with ability to read technical Chinese laws and regulations at native level speeds.  Ability to conduct professional business meetings, government negotiations along with occasional simultaneous translation is highly preferred.  Experience with written translation is a plus. 
- Excellent communications skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly to audiences of different backgrounds.  Must be able to understand complex issues and describe them in simple terminology, often times directly from Chinese material.  Strong critical thinking is a desired skill. 
- Possesses exemplary planning and organizational skills.  Experience managing multiple ongoing projects of different nature is desired. 
- Must possess an outgoing attitude, and display willingness to be an active individual who is willing to represent USITO member company interests at all times. 
- Able to work under high pressure environments across multiple time zones.  Occasional business regional business travel within China may be required.
