Dear USITO Parent Associations and Colleagues,
As many of you know it is my last day at USITO, thus I would like to take this moment to thank you for the amazing opportunity I was given to work with so many talented and senior individuals within the USITO Parent Associations and Staff. Working with you over the past two years has been a tremendous pleasure, especially on the many challenging and complex public policy fronts. Additionally, I am deeply indebted to you all as it was through your expertise and leadership on these issues I was able to learn and grown professionally. To this end, I am very fortune to have been graced by your insight, guidance, mentorship, and suggestions during my time at USITO.
I’ve had some exciting times during these past two years, including getting the unique opportunity to wine and dine with the Chinese security agencies, get lectured on U.S. defense policy by old Chinese PLA Colonels, flown out by MOFCOM to random Chinese cities to take part in ribbon cutting ceremonies as the token “foreign face,” and of course have a hand in the green dam fiasco. I am certainly going to miss having the opportunity to go head on with the Chinese government on the most pressing technology issues, even when chances of victory are slim.
I hope we can keep in touch, and as I will still be based in Beijing working on ICT related policy and regulatory issues at APCO, I am looking forward to being a familiar face in the community. If you are in Beijing on a business trip and would like to catch up, or would like to contact me for any related matter, don’t hesitate to reach me via my personal email: jimmy.goodrich@gmail.com or mobile number: (011-86) 158-0161-5827.
Good luck, and talk to you soon!
