This group looks at environment and energy efficiency compliance issues at the product level. It
includes China RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and energy efficiency standards. Additionally, a separate task force looks at the promotion of energy efficiency technology in traditional industry with the goal of reducing the industrial carbon footprint. The 2009 Co-Chairs of this workgroup will be announced soon.

This group specifically looks at China’s standardization and conformity assessment drive and searches for positive ways to encourage China to adopt global practices in developing standards. The group specifically, but not limited to, focuses on the following issues: China standardization and conformity assessment laws, product certification, among others. 2009 Co-Chairs: Terry Zhang of Intel, Dennis Ding of SUN Microsystems.

This group focuses on macro-level issues that affect the overall strategy and competitiveness of the foreign tech industry in China. Specific issues the group covers include: innovation policy, anti-monopoly law, IPR and patents, government procurement, tax policy, international tradeissues such as ITA, along with information assurance policy. 2009 Co-Chairs: Dennis Chen of Texus Instruments (TI); Dapeng Lin of Oracle.
