USITO's Monthly Policy Call: 8am May 13 BJ time or 8pm May 12 EST

Dear USITO Members,

USITO plans to host its monthly policy call for April 2010 at 8:00am, Thursday May 13 BJ time or 8:00pm, Wednesday May 12 EST. The call will last for one hour. Major topics for discussion will include the following:

 

1. Notice of USITO’s Four Policy Work Group Meetings in Q2
2. Information Security
     13 TBT CCC regime follow-up: debriefing of USITO discussion with CNCA, the Ministry of Finance’s enforcing measures. 
     Multi-Level Protection Scheme: In addition to 5-level system categorization, authorities have lately been enforcing 3-level product classification, with

     foreign products unable to meet requirements.
3. Government Procurement
      USITO will work with UIR (China University of International Relations) to host a GP workshop in Fall 2010, seek company involvement.
4. Indigenous Innovation Products (IIP)
     MOST announced 2010 IIP Accreditation Measures
     Based on member/parent association inputs, USITO submitted a comment letter on 2010 IIP to MOST.
5. IPR issues
     Activity summary on China’s IPR week. USITO attended SIPO press conference as invited by SIPO.
6. Environment issues
     USITO will sign MOU with China Institute of Electronics (CIE) to ally on environmental policy issues.
