Standards Working Group Kick-off Meeting

Dear members,  

USITO plans to kick off this year’s policy working group meetings from next week. The meetings will discuss USITO’s policy agenda in 2010, and the co-chair volunteers for each working group will present their work plans and seek support from meeting participants. Below is the schedule and major policy topics for each meeting: 

2pm-4pm March 11 Thursday
Standards and Conformity Assessment Working Group
Policy Topics: Patents issue in standard setting; MRA status; emerging indigenous standards issue; filtering software; etc. 
 

10am-12pm March 16 Tuesday
Trade and Investment Working Group
Policy Topics: Indigenous Innovation Catalogue; government procurement; IPR and regulatory issues; Internet issue.  

2pm-4pm March 18 Thursday
Cyber Security Working Group
Policy Topics: TBT 13 certification regime update; encryption issue; multi-level protection scheme; trusted computing.  

10am-12pm March 23 Tuesday
Environment and Energy Efficiency Working Group
Policy Topics: RoHS; WEEE; energy efficiency label; energy saving and emission reduction general.  

The meetings will be held in USITO office. You are welcome to bring relevant new policy issues to the meetings. Due to limited seats, please make sure to register with us (ftzhang@usito.org) before COB March 10 Wednesday, in your email please indicate which meeting(s) you want to attend.
