ICT Breakfast Series: Can China Innovate? The quest to move from "Made in" to "Designed in"

AmCham China's Information &Communications Technology (ICT) Forum and the US Information Technology Office (USITO) are pleased to invite you to the next briefing in their on-going Breakfast Series, this time featuring Mr. Duncan Clark, Chairman of BDA China.

China is striving to move up the value chain from manufacturing to design. To do so means creating an innovation culture. Yet innovation is born, not made, and government-led attempts to speed it up are unlikely to succeed.

Join us at breakfast to hear Mr. Clark share his insights and thoughts on new and hot issues from the industry, such as

  • Do the recent allegations of hacking by the Chinese military of western multinationals reveal a fundamental lack of confidence in China's own ability to close the gap?
  • If the State is not able to unlock China's innovative potential, are private enterprises poised to take China's economy to the next level?

Duncan Clark is a global thought leader in ICT, dividing his time between Beijing and Silicon Valley where he involved in a Stanford University program on global innovation. To have more information about the speaker, please click here.
