Nicolas Fetchko

Nick Fetchko is Director for International and Government Affairs at the Telecommunications Industry Association, a Washington, DC based trade association representing several hundred global companies that manufacture telecommunications equipment.  He is responsible for managing TIA’s international policy efforts, coordinating policy positions and representing TIA members to both the U.S. and international governments.  He also represents TIA on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the United States Information Technology Office in Beijing China and serves as the Chair of the U.S. Telecommunications Subcommittee of the U.S.-India ICT Dialogue.

Prior to joining TIA, Mr. Fetchko worked for over eight years as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State.  His last position at the State Department was in the Office of Communication and Information Policy (CIP), which leads the U.S. government’s international telecommunications policy activities.  In CIP, Mr. Fetchko served as Director for Latin America and South and Central Asia.  Mr. Fetchko also served in the State Department’s Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs and at U.S. Embassies in Germany and El Salvador.  While at the State Department, he received two Superior Honor Awards and three Meritorious Honor Awards recognizing his work across a broad range of issues, including telecommunications policy.

Mr. Fetchko is a graduate of George Washington University (Bachelor of Arts) and Tulane University (Master of Arts).  He speaks Spanish, French and German.
